Paleontological study of the Lower Pleistocene macrofauna, microfauna and flora of the Ortos- Magoula and Haradros- Kato Sychaina (Achaia, Greece)", C. Carathéodory 2013, E038, funded by the Research Committee of the University of Patras.
The objectives of the project were as follows:

• Collection of bibliographical data related to the study area and subject
  
• Selection of excavation sites and sampling sections
  
• Excavations and sampling of selected sections
  
• Cleaning and preservation of the collected macro-fossils
  
• Sample processing and collection of microfossils Identification and study of macro-fossils and micro-fossils

Drawing conclusions about the geological evolution of the wider area, the ecosystems and bio-communities that lived there, as well as the region's paleoclimate over time.  Training postgraduate and undergraduate students of the Department of Geology through participation in excavations and during the preparation and study of the collected material. Within the framework of this project, 1 article was published in a scientific journal and 5 presentations were made at scientific conferences in Greece and abroad. Additionally, a master thesis dissertation was ("Stratigraphic and paleoecological study of Plio-Pleistocene deposits around the riverbed" - Maria Tsoni), while some of the macrophages (fossilized bone fragments) contained of the samples used by a second master's degree ("Study of bone mineralization processes in aquatic environments" - Marianthi George). In addition, other undergraduate (10 completed and 6 in progress at the time of completion) and postgraduate work (1 completed and 2 in progress at the time of completion) were prepared as part of this project.

"The environment of Homo neanderthalensis during the Late Pleistocene: Paleoecological and taphonomical study of the upper Pleistocene fauna from the cave of Kalamakia, Mani Peninsula, Greece (KAL-PAL).", 80462. The project was implemented through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning- Supporting researchers with an emphasis on Young Researchers 2018." and was co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek national funds. The subject of the KAL-PAL project (KALamakia PALaeontology) was the study of the stone industry and faunal fossils of the Upper Pleistocene site Kalamakia, Mani Peninsula, Grece.

During the project the following were studied:

•  the palaeoenvironment in the southern Peloponnese of the Upper Pleistocene
•  the paleoecological relationships between species
•  the taphonomical history of the site
•  the possible interactions between humans and animals in the area

During this project 1 article was published in a scientific journal and 1 presentation was made in a scientific conference.

“Study of Pleistocene Ostracods from Central and Southern Greece: Digital Imaging of a Paleoenvironmental Tool (PLOSTRAC).", 80455. The projected was implemented through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning- Supporting researchers with an emphasis on Young Researchers 2018." and was co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek national funds. The subject of the PLOSTRAC project (PLeistocene OSTRACods) was the Pleistocene Ostracods of central and southern Greece. The objectives of this project were:

•  the identification of different species in their respective locations
•  morphological description
•  species’ dispersal
•  ecological preferences
•  high definition image display
•  creation of a digital database with all the above elements
• During the project 1 article was published in a scientific journal and 2 presentations were made in scientific conferences.
